Report: 7.4 quake near New Zealand   A powerful earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.4 occurred near the Auckland Islands, uninhabited territory belonging to New Zealand, the Japan Meteorological Agency said Sunday. The agency said there was a chance of a tsunami being generated, but no tsunami warning was issued by New Zealand disaster monitoring authorities.
