Kapci Coatings, one of the leading coatings manufacturers in the Middle East and Africa, have released an update on their sponsorship of 1 lap of the 24H DUBAI Race in the UAE that took place at the Dubai Autodrome. The 17th edition of the event was held on 14 January 2022. As sponsors of the competition Kapci Coatings had branding on some of the cars, and in many other places where other partners and attendees were watching the event. Kapci Commercial Director, Mr. Amr El Sayed commented on the sponsorship: “Our involvement came with our passion in technological advancements which is key in modern era racing. We wanted to prop up our support for the 24H DUBAI Race as we appreciate the amount of hard work and discipline that is put in this event.” According to the Daily Sports Car website, the 24H SERIES season in 2022 kicked off with official Free Practice for the 17th annual Hankook 24H DUBAI on Thursday 13 January ahead of two, 55-minute Qualifying sessions later that afternoon. The race proper got underway at 15.00 hrs local time on Friday 14 January, with racing running uninterrupted throughout the night until the chequered flag was flown at the same time on Saturday 15 January. The 2021 competition saw the GPX Racing Porsche 991 GT3 R team become the first Emirati team, since 2013, to win the race that span 24 hours. The winning team GPX Racing included the drivers Axcil Jefferies, Frederic Fatien, Mathieu Jaminet, Julien Andlauer and Alain Ferté. The 16th edition of the event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council on 15-16 January 2021. The event saw more than 250 drivers compete across 54 cars.
